Mike Wagstaff rides bikes, plays guitar and dreams of becoming a rock star, check out his song “Made Of Win” which is all about riding bikes.

I reckon this lad has talent and I loved this mellow tune. I always love it when bikes and music collide (apart from when I was shunted off the cycle path by the Status Quo Tour bus just outside of Pontefract back in 1998)

Mike has entered the UK Open Mic Competition with his song “Made of Win”. His regional final is at the NEC on October 29th and if he gets through he’ll be going to the big smoke, London Town and the o2 Arena for the Grand Final.

As an X-Factor judge might say “It’s a YES from me, all the best Mike!”

Here’s what Mike told us:

“I’ve been riding for about four or five months and ride a Cannondale Gemini which I love it to death!

Musically, I’ve been playing guitar and performing since I was 6 growing up with the original dream of being a rock star lol.

My influences are The Cat Empire, Paolo Nutini, Jamie T, Mumford & Sons, Artic Monkeys.

Yes, I do worry about bashing my fingers all the time I’m riding! But, it’s great doing both music and downhill the two things I love so I really don’t mind and just take my chances!
