A great catch up with cage fighting downhiller Leon Rosser!
Tom Wheeler and Alex Tyler from www.eyesdownfilms.tv have knocked out a great edit and interview with Welsh downhill rider Leon Rosser.
When did you start racing Downhill..?
It started in about 2000, I spotted some downhill on the TV and thought I could do a bit of that so took it from there. I then entered my first Dragon Downhill race about a year later and then in about 2003 I started taking things a bit more serious and entered all the Dragon races and took it from there.
What race series have you been focused on lately..?
Think I have mostly been concentrating on BDS Nationals, Caersws Cups and recently the WDMBA Series which is great as the South has suffered a bit since the Dragon Downhill stopped and the boys from WDMBA have filled that gap and have done it justice.

What has been your best results this year..?
It has been pretty tough this year as I have just moved up to the Elite Category so I have tried to take it easy to avoid injury but i have still had a few podiums. A few 1st, 2nds and 3rds.
So you have came a long way since Senior in 2002 ..?
Defiantly, its been a long road but I am trying to enjoy my time here in Elite before I have to move to masters which one day will come.

How did you get into the MMA fighting..?
Ummm, with the cage fighting it started of with seeing it on tv so went to a Japanese Jujitsu and then moved onto Tai Boxing and then into cage fighting. There are various clubs over the South Wales area but I eventually went to a club with a mate and loved the session. All the guys over there are bonkers and make up a good crowd. It just went from there, I stayed with that club as I knew I would be looked after and the trainer was spot on and we got along very well.
Family…
Ha, it keeps growing. I had my first boy in ’98. We now have 3 boys and with another on its way soon. They are all active like me and love there sports be it biking, football, boxing, scooter or parkour.
