An amazing night for the Aussies in Canberra, as both Jared Graves and Caroline “The Cannon” Buchanan win gold at the 4x World Championships in Australia.
Full report to follow but all you need to know is the home boy Graves dominated from the start, powering out of the gate in an unstoppable display of 4x riding.
Anneke Beerten was shocked to be demoted to the small final after seemingly cruising through semi final no.2. The line judge however called a foul, for a reason that baffled Beerten.
That left the main race down to Jill Kintner and Caroline Buchanan. The Cannon got the snap out of the gate and all Kintner could do was follow in her wheel tracks to the finish.
The temperature here is -40 c and I’m typing this with an icepop, (but not surprisingly there is thumping techno music and screams outside suggesting hundreds of Aussie fans are still larging it up on the VB)
