The secret is finally out! The Glencullen Adventure Park (or GAP) has been a year in the making and today we can announce that the brand new bike park is opening just 15 minutes from the centre of Dublin.

Rowan Sorrell and the Back on Track team (responsible for Bike Park Wales, Gawton and more) have been beavering away fuelled by Guiness and potato bread in an intensive eight month build (so intensive they haven’t even had time to shoot any riding shots yet). The local hype has been building to boiling point and with good reason, it looks awesome.

The initial build has seen a suite of 12 trails laid into the former golf course with two very distinct zones. The first zone features smooth and flowing blue and red trails, a dual slalom and red and black flow jump lines. The second area is a technical zone with red and black natural tech trails on a steeper part of the hillside with decent rock features, allowing for a great days riding over a variety of terrain and trail styles.

There’s a spectrum of trails from blue through to black and even a couple of pro lines. It’s due to open next weekend so make sure you get over to the website and get booked in as soon as possible.

Rowan said: “We’re really pleased with how the trail offering came together and are confident this will become one of the places to ride in Ireland in 2017 and the team at GAP have done a superb and professional job of setting up the remaining infrastructure with car parking, bike hire and uplift all top notch and a café to come online soon after.
