Hello Dirt people Tinternet has been out at Fort William well no not really we aren’t that far north I’ve just been quite busy so have not had time to enrich your lives with my blog Im sure you’ve all been lost with out it……aye more like better off without it!
Anyway what’s been happening in Fort William its not rained for weeks! No word of a lie its been scorching hot the ground has dried up I’ve got proof!
This great weather has made the trails loose and dusty, yup dusty trails in fort William! But as sod’s law would have it the world cup build up starts so does the rain. Which is kinda of good cos the track needs some moisture to bind it back together fingers crossed for a sunny race day.
Changes wise its just a few wee tweaks to the track this year( spent all the money last year!). The only big change is a new jump, Monster Munch, at the top of the motorway which started building last week going to go shape it this afternoon. It will cut out the rock garden just at the top of the motorway allowing riders to carry more speed into the bottom section. Because it jumps over another trail it is going to be a race only line.
I could have used a normal chainsaw but Eenie said it was more fun to use the digger.
Donald and I have also been making good use of the sunshine by cooking lunch out on the hill. The Disposable BBQ must be one of man’s greatest feats of engineering.
Right time to go find my volunteers its gonna be like Lt. Kilgore in apocalypse now
