When is a tractor not a tractor? When it turns into a field of course. Being an ex-tractor fan myself I am overjoyed about this Farmer John tour news! (But I’m still concerned about the apostrophe.)
Here’s the agricultural news:
We are organising a short course downhill race this weekend (Sunday 8th April) in Saddleworth near Oldham.
Access is via Shiloh lane / Badgers Lane, Oldham. OL4 3RE.
The event is being held on a new track on a private farm close to the village of Delph.
The race is being organised in conjunction with Farmer John (Thorpe) in order to test out the new trail ready for a full race series next year.
The track has been designed and built by IMBA-UK chairman Mark McClure and has been likened to a mini Moelfre.
Timing will be provided by Naked Racing.
7 categories (Juvenile / youth, junior, senior, master, vets, women and hardtail)
The event caters for all types of rider, from experienced racers to first timers looking to try a DH race for the first time. Everything on the track is roll-able but allows faster riders to get their kicks on high speed jumps and flowing berms.
As usual with Farmer Johns events this is grass roots racing, push up, ride down as quickly as you dare!
£25 on the day
