I spotted this tiny Veho Muvi helmet camera at the CycleShow a while back and promptly got one ordered for an inspection. Steve at veho-uk.com had one sent out this morning.
The size of it is remarkable, how do they make it so small? It is about the size of an AA battery but still feels quite substantial. The case is an alloy metal job and measures 55mm tall, 20mm wide and 18mm at it’s deepest part and weighed in at just 40g on our office scales.
It features a 2 Mega Pixel lens and records in VGA 640*480 format and comes with a 2GB Micro SD Card, which they say is enough for 2 hours of footage. The lens only has a 72 degree angle, but that seemed okay in my quick test.
The power comes from a built in rechargable battery with a life of 2-3 hours that you charge a USB lead.
RRP is £79.99 but I’ve seen them on the web for about £60.

I don’t want to start talking about Christmas yet but this could make a nice present.
Is this the Worlds smallest helmet cam? The beauty of this to me is that I can gaffer tape it to just about anywhere on the bike, it’s got a lovely flat/ rectangular lower surface that is perfect for that. But it does come with a few attachments that also do the job.
Check out the quick video tester below.
On the side, a micro sd slot and a Vox on/off switch. This is usefull for all you spies out there, simply leave the cam in a room and when it detects noise over 65DB it starts recording and stops when there is a lull.
Power on/off on the side and a simply button on the top to toggle record on and off, an LED lets you know what’s going on.
I gave it a quick test this morning and the ease of use and quality looks good so far.
