Back in 2013 Cotic released 26 AIN’T DEAD, potentially the finest hardtail riding video ever made, and it has stuck with that motto on its latest bike – the updated BFE26.
This is really just a geometry update on the classic Bfe hardtail to bring it in line with the Bfe275 that was released last year – that means a slacker head angle, longer reach and a lower bottom bracket. The cable routing has also been updated so you can now fit a stealth dropper.
Cotic reckons the bike is good for “hard riding”, think a 4x/BMX/ general play bike built around a 100mm fork, but it does also say you could fit up to a 160mm fork if you want to hit the trails or even something like Megavalanche.
We reckon this could be a great little hanger for all those leftover 26inch parts that are rapidly becoming obsolete, but Cotic says you can fit it with a 27.5 fork if you need.
The frame costs £350 and is available now, or Cotic can sort you with a full build for around £1,800.
