Aston Hill’s rather unimaginatively named ‘DH4’ all weather track is undergoing a massive overhaul and you guys now have the chance to give it a fancier name…

As if getting to name a track wasn’t enough, if your idea is the lucky chosen one then you’ll also get to ride the track before any other member of the public, and you’ll get a whole load of freebies.

Over to Aston Hill’s Deon Fouché for all the details…

“We’ve been busy over the winter months, to create something a little bit different to what people come to expect from Aston Hill. The Hillbillies, under direction of our trail manager Matt Wakefield, have been digging away at our ‘all weather’ track, which used to sport the super creative name of ‘DH4’. Matt’s brought in a lot of knowledge and experience from his summers spent in Whistler and is building a track that will appeal to all levels of rider. The track features plenty of jumps, berms, gaps, drops and step ups, so it would be a shame to keep it’s old name.”

“To that extent, we would like to give the public the opportunity to name the new track, be the first member of the public to ride it during the opening jam session, and win some prizes to boot. Prizes are not finalised yet, but there’s already a signed Danny Hart poster of his World Champs run in the pot. The winner’s trail name will be put on all trail signage, sponsored by Aston Hill partners, Madison UK.”

Please note: As you can see from the photos of the new track below it is still very much a work in progress, and as such it is UNSAFE to ride. Apart from the tape across the track there are support structures that have not yet been removed or cut down.

Aston Hill also require more volunteers to help us surface the track. The digger work will be completed by the end of the week, but they need a lot of hands to move all the surfacing. If you’re interested in helping then hit them up at either their website, facebook or twitter pages to find out when the next dig day is happening. Trail volunteers’ hard work will not go unrewarded.
