Brandon Semenuk wins 2016 Red Bull Rampage

Freeride's biggest event is done

Brandon Semenuk has won the 2016 Red Bull Rampage.

Brandon laid down a run of 84.33 that included a backflip can can and a step up 360 to take his second Rampage title. He first won the event as a 17 year old in 2008. Semenuk needed only one run to secure the crown as no other rider could come close on their second runs. Click here to watch his run.

Semenuk said: “It’s crazy. I’m stoked on it. Obviously eight years is a long time from getting that top spot but this one came together great. I was really excited about my line and my first run went how I wanted and it was enough. I can’t thank my builders enough, they’re just as much a part of it as I am.”

Antoine Bizet (81.00) came second with the first ever double backflip in Rampage history – something he tried and failed last year. This matches his best result from 2012. Carson Storch (79.00) was third.

There were big crashes throughout the afternoon but only Graham Agassiz was seriously hurt. He was stretchered off but was waving to the crowd before he left. Healing vibes out to Aggy!
