Just a reminder that this weekend there is a dig day at the new 4x track at Afan in South Wales.
Bring along a spade or a rake, put in a bit of elbow grease and in return you’ll get free uplifts and a chance to be first to ride this World Cup standard 4x track.
Phil Saxena will be there on Saturday coordinating the work and possibly handing out bacon baps.
Postcode for Sat Nav is:SA12 9SP if you get lost ask directions to the giant plastic camel and you should be fine.
Directions to Bryn Bettws Lodge & Afan Dirt Park taken from AfanMTB
If you don’t have a GPS take J40 from the M4 and firstly follow the diversion to the left around Port Talbot and back onto the A4107.
Diversion sign is a small yellow arrow with a black triangle on it. If you fail to see this and take the A4107 then fork left at the closure barrier down Tydraw Hill and turn left at the mini roundabout. Continue on Forge Road to Tesco’s roundabout, straight over to the next roundabout and come all the way around it heading back to Tesco but turn left to Cwmafan under the M4 and your back on the diversion.
Once you rejoin the A4107 turn left, after about 1.5 miles take the first left towards Neath through the village of Pontredyfen.
Please drive carefully through the village. You will see a pub on the left almost as you leave the village called the Colliers (good beer & food).
Just past the Colliers turn right for Tonmawr and Bryn Bettws Lodge. After half a mile turn right right by our tourism sign, that will take you along an unsurfaced Forestry Commission road for about a mile.
