“I just thought I would send out a quick update on Aaron. As many of you know Aaron sustained a severe injury last week while in Newcastle, England at the Qashqai event series. He broke his L1 vertebrae. in his back. Aaron underwent surgery (theatre, as the Brits call it or Sushi to Cam McCaul!) yesterday and received 3 ti rods (approx. 3 inches in length) and 4 screws in his back. He received the best care possible in Europe and to my amazement he was up and walking this morning at 10am. We expect Aaron to make a full recovery by the end of the summer. It will be a long road, but he is a strong person and knows what he needs to do to get himself back to the top.”

This news kind of slipped through the net. At the recent Sasquatch event up in Newcastle, freeride star Aaron Chase fell off a four inch wide plank and dropped eight feet onto his back/butt. He sustained pretty serious injuries but the guys at the Newcastle Hospital sorted him out good and proper. Here’s something we stole from someone else’s website from his wife Kara:
