2015 Lapierre DH bike now available in the UK
The new Lapierre Team DH bike was launched back in the summer at the Fort William World Cup but since then only their ex-team rider rode one last season. Issues with the larger frames being built meant they weren’t ready for Loic and Sam Blenkinsop, now of Norco, to ride. We’ve just had one land in the office next so we will give you a full breakdown soon, for now if you are in the UK then you can get your hands on two build versions or just a frame if you want to do a DIY job. We’ve just had all the info over from the guys at Hotlines so here it is:
Press Release
Riders across the UK can sleep easy in the knowledge that good things come to those who wait. The all new Lapierre DH bike has arrived on UK shores and will be on shop floors across the country as early this week. The new bike is a collaborative project between the Lapierre R&D department headed by 10X World DH Champion Nico Vouilloz and the Gravity Republic race team. This completely
new platform was designed with two main objectives in mind: ultimate performance and extreme reliability. The result is a motocross inspired suspension platform with 210mm of ultra sensitive and progressive suspension. Feedback from the Gravity Republic race team over 18 months of testing has been key in arriving at the final suspension kinematic and geometry figures. The result is SLT (supra link technology) the latest suspension platform from Lapierre designed specifically for DH use.
Geometry was of course a key consideration in the design of the new bike and after vigorous testing 27.5” wheels were chosen as the ultimate mix of speed, manoeuvrability, bump absorption and grip. Each frame size has a 12mm longer reach than the previous bike and the BB also sits considerably lower in relation to the wheel axles, head angle sits at 63.7 (+/‐ 1°). All of these details combine to create a bike that sits aggressive and low on the track allowing the rider to attack in confidence.
The Lapierre DH is available in two complete builds and also as a frame only option. All are constructed from ultra high end Supreme 6 multi butted alloy, come with integrated mud
guard, fork stoppers and seat clamp as well as rubberised chain slap protectors, internal cable routing and impressive mud clearance .
