Chris Porter at Mojo Suspension has just released their team line up for 2009.
It’s a slimmed down affair with only two UK riders, Dan Stanbridge and Aimee Dix, with no Hutchens or Cathro this year.
Mojo will also be supplying “suspension and technical support” to the Subaru/Mondraker of Fabien Barel, Damien Spagnolo and Florent Payet.
If you want to read the full low down then here it is:
Mojo Suspension is pleased to confirm its 2009 Race team lineup.
This year Team Mojo Suspension will be riding the race-proven Orange Mountain Bikes on the full factory program as their only UK supported Team. The long standing nature of this partnership gives a solid platform on which both companies can mutually develop DH technologies, making the best suspended, lightest DH rigs out
The FOX Racing Shox suspension will obviously be the finest in the business provided directly from the ‘factory race’ department. The bikes will run with the latest version of the superb DHX-RC4 rear shock and the coated stanchions of the ‘race-only’ 40RC2 forks.
Hope Technology will be providing the all important brakes and hubs in the all important Hope-sponsored green! We are proud to be associated with a UK company making such great, green products.
For downhill, the bikes will be running e-thirteen chain devices and SDG seats/seatposts supplied by Silverfish UK, Crank Brothers pedals and Lizard Skins grips supplied by 2Pure, and riders will be sporting full Fox casual clothing and race wear supplied by Fox Europe.
THE DOWNHILL LINEUP
Dan Stanbridge (Stanny) – Elite DH
Mojo will be providing full team support to Dan Stanbridge, who will be competing on the 2009 World Cup circuit as well as in the UK National Points Series and several select one-off downhill based events.
Dan Stanbridge: I have been racing with Mojo for the past three years, but I am as excited to be continuing with them for 2009 as I was when I first signed. This is because of Mojo’s interest in high quality engineering products and attention to detail, which gives me the opportunity to race with the best kit available.
Aimee Dix –Elite Female DH
In the woman’s downhill category, Aimee Dix will be representing Mojo at the UK National Points Series in 2009, as well as travelling to European rounds of the World Cup series to expand her racing and gain experience at an international level. As a full-time Mojo technician she’s well versed in her shims, seals and set-ups!
Subaru MTB Pro Racing Team
For 2009, Mojo will also be supplying suspension and technical support to the Subaru MTB Pro Racing Team. This year, the team will consist of double DH World Champion Fabien Barel and his team mates Damien Spagnolo and Florent Payet. From initial pre-season testing with Fabien and Florent, Mojo is expecting great things from this latest Anglo-French project.
Mojo MD Chris Porter has this to say:
Although the Elite male portion of the Mojo team has been slimmed down, the amount of effort we are putting into top-level DH racing has gone through the roof. We’ve been measuring, marking, datalogging, drawing, riding, reporting, timing, testing, riding, riding again, riding some more and then riding again! Our enthusiasm for DH racing and testing hasn’t waned at all and with the possibility to work with a select bunch of the smartest full-time athletes we are fully fired up for the 2009 season. Let the games begin!
