This weekend see the ever popular Schwalbe Euro 4X Series fire back into action at the Dirt Masters festival which is being held at Winterberg in Germany.
Schwalbe Euro 4X Series round 1 preview – Winterberg, Germany
The Series is back for it’s third year and through Schwalbe’s title sponsorship, has grown every year into one of the World’s biggest 4X Series. This weekend, nearly 200 riders have pre entered and will be lining up on the start gate, fired up and ready to take a shot at winning the 2012 Schwalbe Euro 4X Series.
Last year’s top 3 riders, Tomas Slavik, Joost Wichman and Scott Beaumont are all entered for the series and will be pushing each other harder than ever, looking to take the 2012 crown. Tomas Slavik has had a fantastic start to his 2012 season with 2 wins in the 4X ProTour, but it will be really interesting to see if anyone can match his pace this weekend with the start of another series.
The track at Winterberg, like most 4X tracks now, is a permanent track that is in use every day 365 days a year. It is fast and flowing and with it’s 180 degree corners provides loads of opportunities for passing. The racing is sure to be action packed in front of huge crowds at the Dirt Masters festival over the weekend.
Schwalbe’s marketing man, Michael Kull can’t wait to see the series get started:
‘For Schwalbe, the Euro 4X Series is really important for us. In 2012 we released the Gatestar compound in the Nobby Nic and Racing Ralph tyres that are specifically for 4X racing. We are fully behind the Euro 4X Series and can’t wait for another action packed year to see who will take the overall title.’
Like so many 4X races, this round of the series will be broadcast live on the Internet via www.bigair.tv on Sunday.
