Could it be? The ‘dream team’ reuniting? When Steve Peat really hit the big time early on in his career there was one person that was always by his side, and that was his mechanic Andy Kyffin… they were inseparable. They went through so much together, I think it is safe to say that Andy was crucial to Peaty’s early success, but he was much more than just ‘a mechanic’. He became a bit of a celebrity too, he even had his own column in Dirt way back when!
It is also important to note that at the same time Andy was also running the highly successful Northwest Mountainbike Centre in Cheadle, something that he would eventually concentrate more of his time on, eventually leaving behind the World Cup circus. But 2016 will be Peaty’s last season of racing and when we saw this post on his Instagram page it immediately got us thinking.
Really… could it be… is Andy Kyffin going to be back on the World Cup programme for one last time? We’ll have to wait and see.
