Yee Frickin’ Haw

…it’s Friday!! I love Fridays, especially this one.

Why you might ask? Well, the sun is totally glaring outside, I ate my lunch on the picnic table for the first time this year and I have a ferret. Yep, that’s right I have a ferret. Joe (my 2 year old decendant) decided the other day that he wanted a bird feeder in the garden. So we went and bought a nice green feeder with little pegs for the birds to sit on and eat. My wife wasn’t not to happy with the whole feeder idea saying that when her granny hung up a feeder it was shortly followed by rats. “Don’t worry”, I said. No rats live here…

The next evening I’m in the kitchen when my wife starts screaming and banging on the wall from the other room. “I TOLD YOU WE WOULD GET RATS, COME QUICK AND KILL IT!!” I hurried to the living room to find her on the couch cowering under a blanket and sure enough there was the head of a rat peering at her from the bottom window of the french doors. At least at first it looked like a rat but then I saw the rest of it’s body and it turns out to be a baby ferret. This thing is pretty tame and pretty stinky so it is obviously a male escapee, but where he’s from I have no idea. We have put him in a cat cage and put word round the neighborhood that should anyone be looking for said ferret they know where to find it. In the meantime I thought it needed a name so we asked Joe what he should be called and he said “ferret”. Nice one.

So Ferret the ferret resides at the Robinson’s should anyone out there be looking and if he’s yours then come and get him ’cause he’s a stinky bugger and my wife figures if he’s related to a rat then he’s as good as a rat ,and if he’s as good as a rat then he can’t live here.

In the process of trying to find out how to care for Ferret we came across this which only furthers my worry about the type of people that inhabit this tiny island…Strange

And this…Ferret
