South Africa is quickly becoming a home from home for Sam Reynolds, not only has he hosted the first ever DarkFest this year, but he also grabbed himself second place in the main comp and best trick at the Night Harvest.

The comp was won by local lad Nick “Tricky Nicky” Clarke for the second year and the best trick by Swede Lucas Skiold.
A jam format meant a relaxed atmosphere for the riders who could drop whenever they fancied it in front of a crowd fuelled up on booze and beats. Bad weather has spoiled the event in recent years, but a winter long drought, broken with only a few sprinkles of drizzle, ensured the jumps were running prime this year (every cloud, eh?).
With the wind and rain working in the event’s favour it was the first year in a while that each heat had a full run and then it was time for the grand finale, best trick on the massive trick jump.
A few riders were pretty beat up after their runs and opted to take it easy, but Sam Reynolds was spinning a huge cork 720, but unfortunately didn’t manage to stick it. Lukas Skiold is from where they make tech master riders in Sweden and didn’t disappoint and took the MTB best trick with a flip whip to barspin!
