We get a sneak look behind the scenes with Giant team riders Danny Hart and Andrew Neethling during a SRAM test session in San Romolo in preparation for this year’s World Cup series.
Danny and Needles were in Italy with the SRAM guys and the Giant team back-up to hammer out some settings on their new equipment.
Jon Cancellier, RockShox tech, flew over with 69lbs of one of a kind parts in his luggage. Needles is new to the BlackBox program and JC gives him the lowdown on what’s so special about all the new stuff in the van.
‘And then I cleaned out the dust, covered the little widget in grease and put into the big hollow part’ Needles gives Jon a rundown on how he set about servicing his own forks.
Jon and team manager Joe Staub trying to decide if this could be the right saddle height for Pietermaritzburg.
Danny has a new BlackBox Vivid to test this week. I had to delete the next sentence…
Prizes for who can figure out where these go… It’s a custom BlackBox part and there are only two of these in existence.
Danny’s new BlackBox fork with custom World Champ stripes and a few other special features – some you can see and some you can’t.
Danny’s custom saddle. It’s OK, he has a good supply if they get dirty.
Look out for the full story in Dirt 122, out end of March.
