Haha more blogtasticness!

Been nice and busy the last couple of weeks so I’ve not been blogging as much as I should have. So here is the recap of my shenanigans…

Two weekends ago I was racing my first XC race riding 10 under the ben. Don’t worry my legs are still hairy and I didn’t do that much training! Believe it or not pedalling 10mile laps for 10 hours is real good fun! I did it as a pair with my dad and I got to go out first lap with the mass start in the Nevis Range car park. Got the old 4x elbows out pushing through! Pedalling along the access road then turning into the Tompsons trail to go into the transition are at the auction mart. It was quite funny when I got to the first bit of single track climb just turning the corner and seeing this solid line of people going up the hill I thought I better unclip one foot out of a pedal just in case I had to stop quickly. Good thing I did Because about 6 riders in front of me couldn’t get there feet out quick enough and fell into the ditch at the side! Good atmosphere out on the course as well chatting to folk.

Then on Wednesday I found out that last years world cup round here won the immtto event of the year 2006. Much dancing around and shouting were number 1!

Just had the 3rd round of the SDA this weekend just past as well as some NPS 4X action. A good elite turn out with Tracy Mosley, Marc and Scott Beaumont, Will Longden, Josh Brycland, Dale holmes, Nathan Rennie and Mr Steve all making the trip north for some pre worlds practice.

I was a bit of a bar steward on Friday and hacked a new line about half way into the natural section. It was funny watching folk riding in practise on Saturday morning you could tell who hadn’t walked the course on Friday night! A lot of folk flying in and realising “shit this sections changed”. I do like being evil haha!

Peaty stormed down the hill with a time of 4.59.63 with Rennie in at 4.59.68 the rumour going round the pit was that Steve wasn’t planning going for a 2nd run but Rennie said he’d be faster! True or not I think its quite funny. Great results for the locals too with Joe Barns and Ben Cathro ranking 4th and 5th.

Another surprise on Friday was that Rare management have stickered up Steve and Tracy their own gondolas. Bit of a surprise seeing Steve’s big cheesy grin as I was going up the gondola!

So that’s the current excitement for now test event for the DH and 4X is done just a few final tweaks before the worlds which aren’t too far away! I do have some 4x pics which I will post up soon.

Got a man bringing an iron horse for me to look at tomorrow. It’s a power barrow but on steroids with loads of kool attachments! Right Im getting a bit geeky about power tools now time to stop typing.
