Day six of our amazing (slightly irregular) seasonal feature. We asked some of the greatest characters in the world of mountainbiking what they would like for Christmas. Now without it going to his head (too much!!!) you’ve got to admit that Brendan Fairclough is one of the most stylish bike riders of all time. And that he has ridden on some of the biggest teams (Royal Orange, Honda, Iron Horse, Scott), with the biggest names (Minnaar, Peaty, Hill), throughout his career. Style for miles and fast to boot. So what does he want?

“All I want for Christmas… is ‘Dirt’ mag to come back in to print! And another cover… or two!! Actually I want is front and back cover when it comes back to print please.”

I’ll take this opportunity to remind you all that this has been a really difficult year for us here at Dirt. Losing the magazine was not easy for any of us, and we all miss it. But at the end of the day people don’t buy magazines like they used to, and add to that the fact that advertisers are looking to spend large amounts of cash online… well our hand was somewhat forced. We had to close the magazine down. Dirt was always a niche brand within a niche market… and that was not always an easy place to be… Mike Rose
