Not only is litter awful for the ecosystem around a trail, it looks ugly and draws nothing but complaints from cyclists, walkers and horse-riders alike.
The more complaints there are, the more likely those lovely trails will be shut down by do-gooders. If you can bring something out with you, you can take it home too.
