Off the shelf downhill wheels simply don’t get any better than a pair of
Mavic Deemax. We love them for a number of reasons, but the most important one is that they’re the strongest wheels we’ve ever had the pleasure of using. Combine that with excellent hubs, the ability to run them tubeless, and the fact that despite their incredible strength they don’t weigh a tonne, and it’s not surprising we love them so much. The only thing we’re not too sure about is the move away from the classic yellow finish to one verging on flowery, but to be honest even if they came with a pink polka dot finish we’d still love ‘em.
