Over the years Leatt have carried out subtle tweaks to their bicycle neck braces, with small improvements here and there, but for 2014 they’ve thrown that tradition out of the window and instead they’ve designed this new DBX 5.5 from the ground up. The most impressive area of improvement is in the adjustability/fit department, which in turn leads to greater comfort, and safety. Rather than the old spacer system to adjust size this brace has sliders at the front and rear that can be adjusted in seconds, and far more precisely. The rear strut angle is also much easier to change, and you can now alter the height of the brace using various pads. Aside from the improved fitting the DBX 5.5 also offers an increased range of movement, and it’s far easier to clean than previous versions. This is definitely the brace of choice right now.
