For a wheelset costing just a few pennies shy of nine hundred quid you’d expect something pretty special to say the least, but that’s exactly what these wheels are. Easily the most impressive thing about them is their unbelievable strength to weight ratio, and when it comes to wheels there’s nothing more important really.

At 1550g for the pair they weigh less than many XC wheels, but yet they’ve proved to be more than capable of taking some serious abuse. That quality alone would make them a great pair of wheels, but throw in a tubeless rim and a hub that’s been designed for maximum bearing longevity, along with a whole load of other neat little touches, and you’ve got an amazing set. For 2011 there will also be a slightly cheaper and heavier version, but if you’ve got the money then these have the power to transform a bike. It’s just a pity they don’t do a 20mm front hub (it’s 15mm only).
