The Float 36 is the choice fork for us in the 36 range. The Fox 36 has always impressed us with its stiffness and businesslike approach of swallowing the hits, but the 2009 and 2010 Floats have proved to perform every bit as well as the FOX Vanillas whilst saving weight. The Float RC2 offers the best balance of weight and performance with the extra compression adjusters allowing you to tune in the ride to suit your bike set up and riding style. If you run an all–mountain set–up with a slacker head angle it may be worth considering the more expensive Talas model, which allows you to dial in the ride height, dropping the front end for the climbs, but apart from that the Floats are great forks.
