The first thing that jumps at you when behind the BOS Idylle fork is its buttery smooth action, clearly a step above its competitors – it simply seems to have zero stiction. With a strong, whilst not overbuilt, chassis, the fork is stiff and tracks well, but prevents some of the issues found with oversized forks. The damper is simple to understand yet brutally efficient at swallowing all the trail can throw at you. The simple adjustments do exactly what they say on the tin, leaving you to simply concentrate on the matter of riding your bike…faster. We have chosen the RaRe model or ‘race ready’ as it offers High and Low compression and a hydraulic bottom–out stop, but we’ve been relishing in the performance of the standard Idylle all season and for most it is all you will need. Put simply the BOS is the best production DH fork out there, with better damping, reliability and control than its competitors, yet somehow remains far simpler to understand – amazing!
