Saracen Ariel

For 2015 Saracen have gone for the ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ approach when it comes to the Ariel, and that’s no bad thing because it wasn’t broke. In fact ever since it was first introduced we’ve been impressed by the neutral and confidence inspiring characteristics of this bike, and with the change to 27.5″ wheels in 2014 it only improved. So, apart from a few cosmetic changes and a couple of spec changes the Ariel remains largely unchanged for 2015.

There are two models in the 2015 range, the 151 and the 152, and these will sell for £2899.99 and £3299.99 respectively. Both bikes feature an aluminium front end alongside a carbon rear end that chucks out 150mm of travel. The frame will also be available to buy separately for £1599.99 and includes a top of the range Fox Float CTD Kashima shock, along with a very classy black and chrome paint job. We’ve had an older version of this frame on long term test for well over a year and it has proved to be a true workhorse, it’s never let us down, and we see no reason why this latest model will be any different.
