The tagline reads, “New, Independent, Rider Owned”, and that pretty much sums it up… actually Ed from Airdrop Bikes sums it up better himself:
“I’m that latest dude who thinks he can set up a new, independent mountain bike brand in the UK. There’s some evidence that I might be right. It’s called Airdrop Bikes. The first bike – The Edit – has been in development for 18 months, it’s in production now, and the website has just gone live. So we’re all set. Stock is due in February.”
To the point. We haven’t see one of the bikes in the flesh yet, but what we can tell you is that Airdrop have designed a bike specifically for aggressive UK trail use. The main features are 4-bar linkage design, 6061-T6 Heat treated alloy tubing, 150mm rear travel, 27.5”, designed around 1x drivetrains, Tapered headtube, 142x12mm rear axle and Threaded BB with ISCG05 tabs, 66º head angle and low BB. But the best thing has to be the price, a frame and shock set-up starts from just £949.
Look it is most probably best if we just let Ed and the Airdrop tell their story, they will do it much better than we can:
