Devinci’s bikes have proven their bikes – over the last few years especially – to be as fast as they are beautiful, and their new 165mm Spartan seems to be doing just that. production Under the careful (read: fast) hand of Damien Oton, it’s been showing the Enduro World Series trails who’s boss. We took a look at the Aluminium version of the Spartan at Tweedlove and here’s the down-low on the new carbon bike:

It’s offered in aluminium or carbon, with each having a number of specifications. The aluminium is €2249 frame only, or there are builds going from €3599 to €6599. The carbon comes frame only at €2599, or in a full build between €3949 and €6949. To be honest, we don’t see why you’d get the aluminium one at that price. If it’s €350 difference between that and carbon, which as a frame is nearly two pounds lighter (8.04 vs 6.15lb in Medium), it seems a no-brainer if you’re into carbon…

Damien’s been having a good run with this bike – here’s our DirtTV video from the EWS round in La Thuile, which he won. The Southern French machine wasn’t a household name a few months back, but he’s stormed the series aboard this bike. He got second in Valloire then took a huge win in La Thuile in Italy. If he’s any testament to the bike, great things are expected, and we’ll have one in soon. (A Spartan, not an Oton.)
Delivery starts in October in the black and white colours, or December in the green and black team colour. The alloy model in green and black is available right now.
