James McKnight’s Devinci Wilson long term test bike.

Dirt columnist James McKnight will be putting the Devinci Wilson through it’s paces this year, stay tuned for his full test in the magazine in a future issue.

For now here’s a quick look at the Wilson.

On first impressions I am pretty confident that I am going to grow very fond of this one; great looks, race proven and a solid set-up are all makings of a top downhill machine. This is a long-term test bike though and its purpose is to see how the bike and components will fare during a season of riding, racing and travel – important elements to consider when you are dropping a large portion of your hard-earned to afford it.

I’m going to be based out of Riders Refuge (Morzine) for the summer which will act as a base for Alpine adventures – the bike will be tested on an array of punishing tracks and most certainly with a minimal budget for upkeep; we’ll see how she fares. Beyond the Alpine season the Wilson shall be joining me on the shores of the Italian Riviera where I’ll be staying with the guys from Riviera Freeride – the main uplift operators for the punishing San Remolo downhill tracks – so she’ll be truly put to the test with a season of riding that will total more than the average rider’s year.

This set-up (SL Carbon): £5,000

SL Special Edition: £3,250
