Ultimately the Ibis was worth every minute that we waited for it. Having first seen this, the HD version of the Mojo, caned by Brian Lopes several years ago at the Downieville Classic it has been high on my wish list of bikes to ride. Finally here it is in Wales, matt black carbon and ready to pounce. It looks a very impressive and extremely rapid piece of equipment. Ibis reckon it’s built like a tank but doesn’t ride like one. A rare breed?

CHASSISCarbon, with a Kashima Fox RP23 rear shock at the heart of the 160mm dw–Link suspension system, the Mojo is a lightweight big hit offering weighing in at 6.5lb with rear Maxle, and tapered steering (1.125” upper/1.5”lower). Ibis say it’s built to take 160mm or 180mm forks. But more than this it’s the quality, featuring dual row angular contact bearings, smooth lines and quality presentation that’s plain to see. And then everything is hidden away from the shit on the Ibis, including the inboard bearings and featuring a polycarbonate downtube cable guard.
The HD comes with guides for an adjustable seatpost too (we’d like to see one as standard on all models) but doesn’t have an ISCG mount – although a custom MRP guide is available instead! The Mojo comes in small/medium/large/X large.
In terms of numbers the head angle at 67º is exactly as it says on the spec, with the wheelbase being slightly longer than quoted at 45”. Standover is different depending on size but we found the large spot on for body movement.>>
