The Cillos stem takes part of it’s name from the street where Gamut was born and what they have done here is pretty clever. The Cillos looks pretty normal but Gamut have forged this stem with minimal machining to make it as strong as possible. A lot of brands forge their parts before machining back to the desired shape but Gamut have refined a design that just doesn’t need working in that way.

The finish is a cool brushed steel grey with four bolts up front and two opposing bolts clamping to the steerer tube. There might seem to be more holes than metal here but the guys from Gamut assured us it was as strong as hell and after a few rides it feels solid.

The Cillos comes in 40, 50, and 60mm lenghts and it’s zero rise for a low front end, weighing in at exactly the claimed 130g for our 40mm one it’s not exactly heavy! The stack height is 43mm and with a lifetime warranty there’s a lot to like about this stem. We’ve got one bolted to a test bike and we’ll report back after giving it some more stick.
