The CrankBrothers Mallet DH Race Pedal has been a familiar site on the DH race scene for some years now. With a lighter weight than the long-standing DX pedal from Shimano it has much more mud clearance and is a lower profile shape.
The Mallet DH has had little competition from other brands until recently, with only the HT X2 pedal proving a notable design.
Crankbrothers pioneered a different binding mechanism from their Japanese and European competitors many years back and they have developed a loyal following. Durability has now improved – a massive improvement on the original design.
