Hope’s range of brakes has just received a pretty major makeover. The biggest
change is the new ‘Tech’ lever which from first impressions seems like a big
improvement over the old one. For starters it’s much stiffer and offers tool-free bite
point and reach adjusters, but it also just feels better with the new blade shape and
the lack of any play thanks to there now being proper bearings in the pivot. The
levers also now have a reservoir lid on both sides meaning that one lever can be run
either left or right, useful if you want to buy just one spare to take to races. All the
callipers have also been reworked with the X2 now being lighter and more powerful,
the M4 now having four pistons of the same diameter to give more usable power,
and the V2 now has a wide angle hose connection and a drip free bleed nipple,
which you’ll also find on the other callipers. The V2 also now comes with a 183mm
floating rotor option. These are easily the biggest changes we’ve seen from Hope in
quite some time, and they all seem to be good.
