Yt Industries Tues CF Pro Race

What a year the Tues has had! Striding confidently into the World Cup ring with the world’s fastest man behind the controls they were clearly looking to ruffle some feathers.

Even the most optimistic of bookies couldn’t have predicted what happened next though. A knock out blow from the bell. Gwin was flying from round one. On a stock set up you can buy direct from Forchheim, Gwin snatched a win at Lourdes and would back it up with another in Leogang to claim the overall title. The YT Mob is going from strength to strength on this bike and, with a bolstered roster next year, expect to see more of their riders on the podium in the future.

New this year is the long-awaited addition of XL sizing to the CF range. Our one gripe with the Tues in the past had been that it didn’t suit our 6’ plus testers, something that may now have been eliminated. With a 470mm reach, the Tues isn’t quite as big as the Sender but it has outgrown the Demo, Session and Summum.

Finally, is the addition of a Pro Race build on the CF (complete with this ‘liquid metal’ paint scheme). This offers cream-of-the-crop componentry including Gwin’s signature brakes from TRP and the same e*thirteen and Renthal finishing kit he runs on his race bike. Despite the fact you’re basically picking up a World Cup worthy ride (and we’re in a time of post-Brexit uncertainty) you still only pay 4,300 smackers for this awesome machine.

So while everything is new, everything is also sort of the same. We’re as deeply impressed with this bike as always. The Tues is so composed and predictable it becomes easy to plan ahead down the trail. The addition of Fox has taken an edge off the stiffness of the Bos that the Tues used to be equipped with. The weight distribution feels much better on the XL and means there’s no more constant counter-balancing for larger riders.

“How do they make it so fast, so composed, so well specced and yet so cheap?”

At some point we’re going to stop being surprised every time a new Tues rolls through the door and we end up loving it. How do they make it so fast, so composed, so well specced and yet so cheap? When is the bubble going to burst? The answer is not for another year at the very least. In other words, the Tues is back in the brawl for the top spot.
