The Santa Cruz V10 is one of the most successful downhill bikes ever, all this time it’s been under Peaty, Ratboy, Minnaar and Nathan Rennie back in the day. It’s had a lot of success with 26″ wheels, World Champs titles and numerous podiums including the first for Josh in Leogang this year. It’s the National Champs up in Innerleithen this weekend and our man Laurence caught a few on track images Steve Peat and Josh Bryceland aboard a Santa Cruz V10 27.5 prototype.
Details are thin on the ground, Peaty and Josh didn’t want to even say 650B but the numbers on the tyres told a different story. Aside from the wheels the rest of the frame appears very similar to the 26 inch bike. Still using the VPP linkage and possibly a new front end that runs a standard headset over the the Buzzworks prototype unit seen on Peaty’s bike before now.
The team are being pretty tight lipped about this one but we’ll try and get some more info as soon as possible. It was 4 years ago that we got to check out the V10 being tested out in Portugal and with any luck we’ll find out more soon.
