Hannah goes fastest in South Africa

UPDATE:OFFICIAL RESULTS BELOW

Unofficial results from qualifying at Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. I watched the first twenty cross the line, scribbled down the times then walked back to the pits to interview Greg Minnaar, only for someone to tell me that rider number 88 setting off in 62nd position, Mick Hannah had clocked a 3.48.

These times aren’t official, just my jottings, I’ll update as soon as the confirmed times come in.

GT rider Mick told me he was quite relaxed at the top and just keen to see where he would end up after taking a year off the bike.
Greg Minnaar was quite relaxed with second spot and Chris Kovarik seemed stoked that on a pedally course his flat pedals gave him a 3:53.
Peaty couldn’t work out why he did a 56 in timed practise yesterday with a cruise of a run, and only managed a similar time today.
Birthday boy Polc put in a scorching 3.57.83 to put his Evil Revolt in 7th.

Tyre choice seems to be playing a part with a number of teams cutting down the dry rubber to give almost a semi slick.

Tracy Moseley looked quite comfortable with a 4:29 and was clearly carrying a shed load more speed along the finish section. Six seconds up on Ragot with Buchar in third.
Sabrina Jonnier clocked a 4:51.

Mick Hannah 3:48
Greg Minnaar 3:50
Chris Kovarik 3:53
Steve Peat 3:56
Gee Atherton 3:57
Justin Leov 3:57
Filip Polc 3:57
Sam Hill 3:58

Womens results:

Tracy Moseley 4:29
Emmeline Ragot 4:38
Clair Buchar 4:42
