PRESS RELEASE
We are pleased to announce that the 2012 UK Gravity Enduro title sponsor is the newly formed bike shop “Fetish Bike Co” based in Cheltenham.
2011 was a great first year for this exciting new UK series and had some horrendous weather for the enthusiastic racers to cope with, a big thanks to 661 and all the other sponsors for their support!
2012 will see 5 rounds again spread across the UK, the stages will again be different at every venue, some suiting the XC/trail rider more than your full on downhiller, but they all require a certain level of fitness, we will be looking to take you out of your comfort zone!
A massive thanks has to go to Adam Powell of Fetish, here are his thought’s –
Adam Powell, Managing Director of Fetish Bike Company added the following.
“Becoming the title sponsor for the UK Gravity Enduro series for 2012 was a great opportunity for Fetish Bike Company. This series captures everything that we as a company represent; A combinations of fitness, bike handling, great bikes, equipment and clothing that will perform as well as you can are all required to enable you to get to the finish line and onto the podium. The ability to get all this and still spend hours on your bike with friends is the best way to spend a weekend racing on a mountain bike. Working with Steve and his team for 2012 will be a great experience and we see Enduro racing growing over the next 5 years and beyond.”
Following our title sponsor comes a support sponsor in the shape of 1 of the industry giants, 2 days after Fetish confirmed the deal was done, Shimano made the decision to back Gravity Enduro, Ian Carter of the marketing department gave his thoughts on the year to come, “We’re really pleased for Shimano to be involved with the Gravity Enduro Series in 2012 and personally I can’t wait for the season to start. There’s no doubt this style of Enduro is going to grow and grow and could well be the future of Mountain Biking. It’s also the perfect platform for us to launch new MTB products, with some really exciting new gravity orientated stuff to be released in 2012. In addition, our Shimano tech van will be at every round to support riders using Shimano products.”
The Shimano tech support van will also be on site at all rounds of the Gravity Enduro, amazing news for the series, we have also been able to get some lovely spot prizes from 1 of the many brands that Madison have, Go Pro, details to follow
The Elite Male cat sponsor has gone to Continental tires, who supported the series in 2011, Rob Scullion had this to say, “Continental is proud to support the UK Gravity Enduro series for its second year, we will be sponsoring the men’s Elite category. Building off an extremely successful first year Steve and team did an awesome job. It should be the race series to enter next year for anyone who loves riding their bikes in the hills with like minded people. We are really looking forward to these races, roll on 2012!”
An all new sponsor for the senior Category, Streak Clothing, Phil Ball had this, “‘Streak Clothing is an extreme sports inspired clothing company’, the UK Gravity Enduro series fits our slogan perfectly. As a relatively new UK biking event Streak were impressed with what has already been achieved by UK Gravity Enduro series, 2011 has shown what a following it has already attracted and what possibilities there are for future racing in the UK. Streak strongly believes this is one of the most exciting Mountain Bike race formats currently in the UK and to be a sponsor for the event is awesome. Streak Clothing are therefore totally stoked to announce we will be sponsoring the Senior Category in the UK Gravity Enduro Series for 2012. We will be giving away Streak Apparel to the top three riders in the Senior category, as well as having Streak’s presence in the pit area. We look forward to seeing you all at the first round of the 2012 series.”
We are still confirming sponsors, but expect some more amazing news soon, dates are out and venues will be confirmed as soon as possible.
Entries will go live on or about 30th January, give you all chance to get over the Christmas booze and credit card
Cheers
Steve and Adrian
