The cheapest bike in this year’s Dirt 100, in fact, the cheapest bike since we had hardtails in there. The Calibre Bossnut is a very significant bike and has totally changed how we look at the market.
The thing is, a bike for under £1,000 simply shouldn’t be this good. How can it be when it’s not carbon, has no gold components and doesn’t weigh as much as a multipack of beans? Unless maybe, just maybe, fit, geometry and a sensible spec sheet are really at the heart of what makes a great mountain bike.
So we come to the Calibre Bossnut. Potentially the worst named bike in a while, but one hell of a ride. Strip away everything and you have a great frame. Roomy, long and complemented by a sorted cockpit.
