Brett Rheeder wins Crankworx Les Gets slopestyle

History made in Les Gets

Brett Rheeder became the first rider to claim a Crankworx Les Gets slopestyle title as he cleaned up this afternoon.

Rheeder celebrated the win with a goofy victory lap including this ridiculous look-back flip

The Canadian Joyride champion was forced to miss Rotorua with a knee injury but picked up exactly where he ledt off with a sublime run in the Alps.

After last year’s event was cancelled due to rain, this was the first chance we’d had to see the riders hit the course in anger – and they truly delivered.

What could have been for Nicholi Rogatkin. A slight case on the Twister saw him shot out of the front door after a show-stopper run

Rheeder’s first run score of 92.33 couldn’t be toppled but Emil Johansson came closest with a 90.33 and Szymon Godziek came third on 86.66.

Here’s a gallery from a sun-drenched day:

For those about to rock...
Rheeder flip-whipping to victory
Not everyone was so lucky...
He's not small, just really far away. Anthony Messere was boosting huge off every feature
The bad luck continues for Matt Jones who had a spill in run one and a puncture run two
The crowd was a lot more chilled than Joyride's and unmistakably French
20 year old Reed Boggs is making the step up to the Diamond series this year and sits 8th in the rankings
Ryan Nyquist schooled a field of riders who were half his age. Fifth for the BMX ledge
Third place and a best ever result for Poland's Szymon Godziek
Tommy G was pushing hard and landed a fourth spot.
The French were well represented with both Thomas Lemoine and Medhi Gani going huge
