Mont Sainte Anne 2016: Danny Hart wins men’s

It all goes down to Andorra

Danny Hart has won his second successive World Cup in Mont Sainte Anne. After his maiden victory in Lenzerheide, Hart proved it wasn’t a fluke by besting the field once again. He was the only rider to post a race time under four minutes as he saw off stiff competition from Gwin and Bruni.

Hart unclipped at the start but recovered quickly to take the hot seat. Gwin looked like he might have had the beating of Hart as he was faster in the second and fourth sectors but in the end he missed out by less than a second.

Third place went to returning World Champion, Loic Bruni, who enjoyed a long stay in the hot seat after puncturing in qualifying. Troy Brosnan finished fourth with Luca Shaw grabbing his first ever podium in fifth.

Gwin still has a lead of 178 points in the overall – meaning he needs just 723 at the net race to ensure victory – but it’s downhill racing and anything can happen.
