We’re finally letting you know what the fuss was all about, with some pretty dodgy rat-look Klunkers popping up all over social media recently it was clear that something awesome was going down.

An annual invitational, the Hack Bike Derby is basically an excuse for frame builders to dick about in the woods on bikes that they’ve made out of bits of scrap. This year’s theme is Klunkers so think bull moose bars, double top-tubes and drum brakes.

Alex Rankin of Sprung and Earthed fame has produced a cracking short film of the event that really captures the atmosphere of the weekend.

Andrew Denham, event organiser, said: “It’s an opportunity for builders to make some bikes for the hell of it, to get creative in a less formal way, and most importantly have fun”
