BLUEGRASS BRAVE FULL FACE LIDNot everyone has a fortune to spend on a full face lid, but as this new Bluegrass Brave lid shows that doesn’t mean you have to settle for something second rate. Crucially the five sizes mean that the chances of getting a good fit are high, and it feels reassuringly solid whilst weighing in at a respectable 1022g (for the large size). There’s a whole load of venting too, particularly in the chin guard to help with breathing, and the ‘snap–release’ central peak mount is neat feature as it should mean less cracked peaks. All the internal padding can be removed and washed, and the D–ring closure might be a bit of a faff but it’s widely regarded as the most secure system. Of course all this wouldn’t count for much if it didn’t look good, but we reckon Bluegrass have done a good job on the styling. Definitely one of the best value lids around.
