One of the (many) benefits mountain biking has over road cycling is we’re not jostling for room with two tonne death machines.

Unfortunately this rider found out just how dangerous they can be at the Canada Olympic park in Calgary. The former Winter Olympics venue has been transformed into a bike park but there are some public road crossings that have to be navigated.

The cyclists have right of way (you can see the ‘Stop’ sign at the end of this video) but it looks like a moment of confusion led to this rider being hit.

Thankfully no damage was done in the incident but hopefully the driver will be more careful passing through the area in future!
