Fresh off his Crankworx EWS win, Richie Rude was invited up to British Columbia by OneUp Components to see if he could snag the KOM on their favourite trail – Angry Midget.
The result is this video and Rude looks like he’s charging as always, despite the somewhat odd OneUp number plate.
In late August, Angry Midget was as punched and dusty as it ever gets. Far from the ideal conditions for setting a fast time. After one sighting lap, he smashed the existing KOM by over 10 seconds with a time of 2:33 – he’s not a 2x World Champ for nothing!
OneUp said: “We hoped to film Richie’s timed run with a chest mounted gimbal, but his aggressive forward position on the bike meant that it kept hitting his stem.” They even reckon his POV cam footage looks stabilised without a gimbal!
