Sven Martin is one of the hardest working photographers in the game, following mountain bikers to races and events around the world. He knows the pro riders better than most and here he’s put his favourite memories of Stevie Smith together in a touching photo slideshow.

Sven told Vital: “This was a good, cathartic trip down memory lane which brought back many good memories of Stevie. This tribute kept me busy and distracted for pretty much two days…my way of dealing with this tragic loss of a good friend and great human. The shots cover about 75 races from 2007 through 2016 (57 World Cups and World Champs). We’ll miss you, Stevie.”
