The seven scariest Halloween edits in mountain biking

All Hallows edits

It’s that time of year again to turn out the lights and hide form over-zealous children on a sugar high. What better way to avoid answering the door than watching some bike edits?

Here are seven of the spookiest Halloween flicks going – although we sometimes think watching mountain bikers try to act is more horrifying than any chasing zombies could be!

Halloween Spooktacular

Evil Slab, Devil’s Staircase, Werewolf Drop, Cannock Chase is full of terrifying sections. Upper Cliff is surely the scariest of all though as it’s ruled by the Downhill Demon. A switchback slayer and a rock garden ghoul, he rules over this famous section of trail and preys on anyone who enters his demonic domain.

#TrailZombie

There’s something spooky haunting the trails of the Surrey Hills and we’re not talking about the doggers. Trail Zombie claimed his first victim in 2014 but Strava shows he’s struck a few times since. We’ve heard that the Graveyard trail off the top of Pitch Hill is his favourite.

The shape of things to come

Some of you may find the bike in this scarier than the content itself but it’s worth persevering regardless. Caroline Buchanan stars as a Furiosa-esque hero in a futuristic wasteland with the Stealth B-52 as her weapon as choice.

It’s worth noting this bike is not legal on UK trails as it can be spun up to 80 kmh (it has a blinking key for Christ’s sake!). So, it may not be mountain biking but it’s still worth a watch to see the 4X World Champion show off her street fighting skills.

The Rise of Doom

If it involves metal, explosions and sick trails then going to hell is alright with us. In this edit Matt MacDuff gets summoned by the devil to produce a full metal edit. Cue back flip tyre taps, loop the loops and breaking through walls.

After Dark

Always good to see something a little different brought to the table and Manon Carpenter and Liam Murphy absolutely kill it in this atmospheric edit. There’s no shortage of gore though as BMXer Kayley Ashworth (who can be seen riding with Manon) knocked out a tooth on day one of the shoot.

Riding the Apocalypse

The old switcheroo from the boys at Ride.io. What we thought was a simple instructional video turned out to be another zombie film. Top work.
