Yes Phil! the mulleted madman has only gone and got himself a spot on the box!
As one of the most gifted bike handlers on the circuit it was only a matter of time before Atwill started hauling in the results and this season has been so good for him so far. Ninth in Vallnord proved his potential and now to podium on a track he doesn’t even like shows just how fast he is this year.
He now moves on to the 13 plate, becomes the third highest ranking Brit after Danny and Laurie and pretty much guarantees himself a spot at Worlds. At just 22-years-old, there’s a lot more to come from this young man!
It’s worth noting this is also the first male podium for a Dirt backed team, going back to 2003. We’re super proud to support Phil, Ben and the whole team. This is right up there with Vaessa Quinn’s Worlds jersey for us.
Propain Dirt Zelvy said: “Switzerland greeted us with warm weather and a track that saw little change from last year.
“Whilst not the favourite track of Phil Atwill, we saw him take his best result yet and for the first time in his career take a step on the podium, which saw a smile reach from ear to ear on the 22 year old.
“Phil now sits 13th in the overall and is hungry for more of the results he has been obtaining recently.“
