Check out the latest action from the Norco Factory Racing team. Here’s what they had to say:
“Fort William 2016 was certainly the event of the year, unfamiliarly warm Scottish weather, insane crowds and a series of incredible tributes to the legend that was Stevie Smith including a massive train and a ghost run. Young Fraser pushed for an amazing qualification result, coming in 29th, a great effort for the lad racing at his home event. Harry sadly had a pretty big crash during practise, banging himself up but still looked good through finals (where he finished 72nd) and Sam had a big off in quali’s leaving him out of contention for finals.
In Leogang the weather played a big factor, with it raining through each night, leaving changing conditions through practise and timed runs. It was a battle of equipment as well as to stay on the bike as the track varied so much, from slippery roots to wooden wall rides to bike park sections. Sam had always felt strong in Leogang so pushed hard this weekend to up his overall position by 10 places (with a 24th), sadly though Harry had another crash, further injuring his shoulder from last weekend and Fraser had a tough time with the conditions leaving the team looking ahead to the next round.
Lastly the team headed to Crankworx Les Gets, replacing Les 2 Alps for this year. The team at Les Gets bike park had spent countless hours building numerous new tracks and structures aimed at Crankworx 2016, but sadly the weather came into effect even more so than Leogang, affecting the slopestyle and pump track events.
Sam and Fraser took part in the whip off but with a ramp made of wood and wet conditions, the boys were finding it tough to get grip coming up so didn’t feel as comfortable as they could throwing it down, but still had an amazing time! The downhill track was in Sams words “so sick,” taking it back to the old school with wide open grassy turns, mud infested woods and a lot of flat out racing. With Harry missing the event due to the crash back in Fort William still nagging his shoulder Sam and Fraser took to the bog fest to have a wild time for him, good times for the boys.”
